Adventures in Spraypainting

As I mentioned yesterday, I am oh so slightly addicted to buying things for my future classroom. So Cody and I ventured out EARLY Saturday morning for a day full of yard sales. I am in all kinds of love with yard sales since a neighborhood yard sale we attended back in May. I got an arm FULL of barely used books that day for $3 because Cody told them I was studying to be a teacher. I was just as successful Saturday and $3.80 later I came home with this...
I am in love with the Wipe Clean Letters book and it was only .25 cents!
I had recently come across a teacher who was selling Target book bins for $1.50 each! Obviously I immediately snatched them up. I mean that is HALF price! I have been stalking the Target dollar spot for awhile hoping to get more book bins. Well... a few weeks ago I sent Cody on a Target run before work and he returned with the only blue book bin in Target. I was so disappointed when he brought it to me and I saw that the new book bin was a different shade of blue than the others I had recently bought. My wheels started turning… hmmm... what should I do? If you read my post yesterday you found out I’m slightly... okay… extremely obsessive compulsive so all of the bins had to be the same color. After a few days of thinking and a few hours of blog stalking I came to this conclusion.

My OCD tendencies could no longer allow me to keep the bins different colors, so I decided they were all going to be white (neutral and perfect for any theme). I wasn’t sure what the outcome would be, but here goes nothing…
Isn't he the greatest? :)
They turned out perfect and I am in LOVE!
Saturday was also the first time I ate here...
Let’s just say I will be visiting this restaurant more often. :)
I meant to take a picture of this…
Touch Screen Coke Machine
Well, that is all for today. :)

I will leave you with these 2 questions...

1. I am considering putting felt on the bottom of the book bins to reduce wear and tear on not only the bins, but also the shelves. What are your thoughts?

2. Have you seen this new Coke Machine at a restaurant in your area? Is my small town just late in the game or are these relatively new?

Leave me a comment! I would love to hear your opinions on the book bins. :)

Tell Me More, Tell Me More!

I LOVE reading about the amazing teachers and bloggers who are behind all of the wonderful ideas out there so I'm linking up with Mrs. Lemons from Step into 2nd Grade for her Tell Me More Linky Party to tell you a little bit more about myself.

1. I am a little obsessive compulsive and extremely organized. I figure these traits will come in handy when I begin teaching.

2. I love taking pictures and my newest hobby is scrapbooking.

3. My favorite stores are Target, Michaels, and Loft. Did I mention I love Michaels because of the amazing coupons they offer?

4. I am already collecting things for my classroom and I’m only a sophomore in college. For example, I have already collected 255 books for my classroom library and I’m expecting a package of 80 more this week. :)

5. Pretty Little Liars, House, and Dance Moms are my favorite T.V. shows.
 6. Who is that handsome guy? That is my sweet boyfriend, Cody. We met on the playground in Kindergarten. Cute, huh? :) We were best friends throughout school and finally started dating about a year and a half ago. We make an amazing team. He is funny, sweet, and always so encouraging and supportive. The best part about him is he is studying to be a teacher too (History and Secondary Education). We both can’t see why the other wants to teach the grade they do. :)
7. I hold my pencil between my ring finger and my pinky. In elementary school my teachers always tried to correct it, which is odd because now every teacher I meet thinks it’s the coolest thing ever.
Yes, that is a terrible cell phone picture of my hand.

Well... I hope you have learned some interesting facts about me. Check back tomorrow for a recap of my latest project. : )

Hello friends! Over the past year I have discovered so many wonderful, talented, and awe-inspiring teachers and bloggers. Feeling inspired, I have decided to start a blog of my very own. :) I am currently a student entering my sophomore year of college as an Early Childhood/Special Education major. In my education classes I have spent countless hours in various elementary school classrooms. I enjoy working with all ages, but Kindergarten is easily my favorite. :) I am a Christian, a girlfriend, a children's book addict, a perfectionist, and a lover of all things elementary! I hope you enjoy my blog and I am certainly excited to share my journey through not only student teaching, but also life in general. Check back soon to see my latest project. :)
